Commentary on the Green Line The GREEN LINE is a comedy. Actually, more of a black comedy. It’s funny because Christian originally wrote the Green Line as a straight drama, but after a couple of rewrites it became evident that it had all the elements of comedy—the exaggerated character types, the desperate hero, and all of it culminating in a wild car chase. Finding the right tone for the characters, and the story in general, and having to direct Christian, who played the main character, made this one of the most challenging lines to direct.
