in the scene is supplied by Grandma and Uncle Leo as they
spring into a cross-table knife fight. The finished product is
not only funny, but also believable. Aside from crack comic
timing and knife play, this scene also called for some serious
continuity, as it was a dinner scene. Luckily, by that time we
had Rachel Shwartz as our script supervisor, who kept a
tight watch over such things. What made her job so difficult
was that with our dinner scene, we constantly had food
being divvied up onto actor's plates. Lasagna, to be exact.
